Salt air off the Salish Sea cannot rust aluminum
Aluminum contains no iron, so there is nothing in it to oxidize. That is the decisive difference on salt water — from the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the San Juans to the Kitsap Peninsula, salt spray attacks steel at every cut edge and scratch, while an aluminum panel simply doesn't have the chemistry to rust. Panels lock on all four edges, ICC-ES ESR-1790 lists wind uplift to 177.5 psf, and the warranty on the water is the same one written inland.

West of the Cascades, asphalt holds moisture and feeds moss through eight months of Puget Sound rain. Smooth interlocked aluminum sheds both — no cleaning cycle, no zinc strips, no soft spots.
Recycled aluminum
Interlock panels are rolled from roughly 95% recycled aluminum (ASTM B209, 3105-H24 / 3003-H24). The last tear-off your house will ever see — nothing to the landfill every 15 years.

Snow sits for days in the foothills above North Bend, Enumclaw, Buckley and Morton. Panels lock on all four edges with no free tabs, ICC-ES ESR-1790 lists wind uplift to 177.5 psf, and smooth aluminum releases meltwater instead of holding it at the eave.

Aluminum doesn't ignite. Class A fire-rated assemblies are available (ASTM E108, with GAF VersaShield per ICC-ES ESR-2053) — home hardening for the wildland–urban interface and for Washington east of the Cascade crest.
